Safe & Sterile Minor Surgeries Performed In-Clinic By Trained Specialists

At King Street Medical, we are equipped with hospital-standard medical tools and trained to perform minor surgical procedures under local anesthetic.

Minor Surgical Procedures

Minor surgeries are often classified as procedures that can be done in-clinic, without full general anesthetic. Some injuries or medical needs may not require a visit to the hospital, but do require attention as soon as possible.

The advantage of having your minor surgery performed by your GP is the convenience of choosing a time that suits you, and performed at your known and trusted clinic. Some procedures can be done on the same day as the consultation, meaning a reduced time off work.

Your doctor will take the time to fully explain all procedures, and whether follow up appointments will be needed. All of the doctors at King Street Medical use hospital-grade equipment and have specialised training to perform minor surgeries in our dedicated treatment rooms. The utmost care is taken to ensure all devices are cleaned and sterilised before each use.

Minor Surgeries

Most minor surgeries involve incisions, cutting, and stitches, but do not penetrate beyond the first few layers of the skin. Some of the surgical procedures our doctors are trained to handle include:

     // Skin Tags
     // Cysts
     // Draining of Abscesses
     // Moles
     // Skin Cancers
     // Warts
     // In-Grown Toenails
     // Fatty Tumors
     // Hemorrhoids
     // Repairing skin lacerations
     // Contraception Implants
     // Removal of foreign bodies/objects
     // ….and others

What Can I Expect After My Surgery?

Minor surgeries are performed under local anesthetic meaning you will be awake during the procedure and able to go home or back to work immediately after your procedure is completed. Swelling, redness, and bruising of the treated area is normal depending on the treatment.

Your doctor will inform you of any post-surgery home-care that may be required.

Fear Of Minor Surgery

King Street Medical understands that many people have a phobia of surgery, especially while awake. Our doctors take extra time to ensure you understand exactly what will happen during your procedure and answer any questions you have. Our calming and relaxing environment will help to reduce anxious feelings.

Notify your doctor before your procedure if you are experiencing significant feelings of anxiety or stress. We have sedative options available to help you relax before surgery begins.

How Long Does A Minor Surgery Take?

Each surgical procedure is customised to your individual needs. Treatments are quicker than you might think, with many being performed in 15-30 min and during the same appointment as your consultation.

King Street Medical aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for your minor surgical procedure. Our new facility is purpose-built to accommodate any minor surgical need without the long wait times of an ER.

With an onsite pharmacy (coming soon), dental practice, and cafe, all of your health care needs can be taken care of in one central location.
