Skin Cancer Check

It is recommended to undertake a full body skin check every year, to monitor for changes. The earlier the cancer is detected, the easier it is to treat and the better the outcome.
Skin Cancer Diagnosis

King Street Skin Cancer provide full-body skin checks to assess any moles, freckles or bumps that may indicate some form of cancerous growth. Receiving regular skin checks are essential to ensure skin is free from potentially cancerous growths.

For individuals with an urgent skin concern or priority requirement, King Street Skin Cancer are able to provide priority skin checks to ensure time-sensitive concerns are cared for as soon as possible.

Many people have one or more benign (which simply means noncancerous) skin growths at some point in their lives. These growths include seborrheic keratoses, skin tags, and warts.
Skin Cancer Medication

SOLARAZE
Solaraze is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory topical cream that treats precancerous cells. It works by destroying unstable skin cells and uses the body’s immune system to repair the damage.

Efudix is a topical cancer treatment used to treat precancerous cells, as well as some forms of carcinoma. It works by stopping DNA from being produced in the cells, which stops cell replication and eventually cell death.
Skin Cancer Surgery

Both Biopsies and Excisions require the removal of an amount of a potentially cancerous growth, but for two different purposes, diagnosis and treatment.

Curettage and desiccation are a form of skin cancer removal used for carcinomas. It involves scraping the skin with a tool known as a curette, and then cauterising the wound.

Diathermy, also known as ‘deep-heating’ uses induced electromagnetic currents to heat the area just below the skin. It is used to remove certain types of skin lesions, such as moles or skin tags. It can also be used for therapeutic purposes.

SKIN FLAP SURGERY
Skin Flap Surgery is often used to remove tumours located in high tension areas like legs, and cosmetically highly sensitive areas such as the head and neck. It is used when a simple defect closure is not possible.
