Our Team

King Street Skin Cancer provide expert diagnosis, management and follow-up treatment, led by our skin cancer expert Dr Sam Wise. Our focus is to provide you with expert and quality care from diagnosis through to treatment options in our state-of-the-art facilities. 

Our clinic is comfortable, and easily accessible in Warrawong. We offer plenty of on-site parking, a comfortable outdoor waiting area, an onsite cafe, and all of our staff are welcoming, and we offer plenty of on-site parking.

Meet Our Dentists

Dr Shabbir Kermali king st dental warrawong

Dr Shabbir Kermali

Dr. Shabbir Kermali is an Australian qualified general dentist at King Street Dental and completed his Bachelor of Dentistry degree at the University of Sydney.

Shabbir is also a qualified pharmacist and has a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Sydney. 

After graduating from Dentistry, Shabbir obtained a graduate qualification in Conscious Sedation and Pain Control from the University of Sydney. This qualification allows Shabbir to perform Conscious Sedation (Sleep Dentistry) safely and effectively, and is the only dentist in the Illawarra to have this qualification. 

Shabbir further continued his education and obtained formal qualifications in Dental Implants from the University of Sydney.

Shabbir is dedicated to making his patient’s every visit to the dentist a comfortable and positive experience.

Dr Ken Hooi

Dr Ken Hooi is a dental specialist with a dual qualification in Implants and Prosthodontics.

Ken has completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Sydney including a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in Oral Implants and Master of Dental Science in Prosthodontics.

Ken provides specialist Implant and Prosthodontics treatment at King Street Dental and has extensive experience in minor oral surgery and Temporomandibular Joint disorders (TMJ).

Ken has years of teaching experience at the University of Sydney, Charles Sturt University and James Cook University, and is a lecturer with Continuing Education Extended Fixed Prosthodontics.

DR SAM Wise


Skin Cancer Doctor

Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor


Dr. Sam Wise is an Accredited skin cancer expert and an active Member of Skin cancer College Australasia (SCCA).

He has extensive skills and knowledge in diagnosing and managing skin cancers. Dr Sam Wise obtained his accreditation via skin cancer College Australasia after completing significant additional training including advance training in skin cancer Medicine and surgery. Further he has completed training in Dermoscopy and dermatopathology.


After graduating his MBBS with honours, He worked in the specialties of Surgery, Paediatrics, Emergency and Anaesthetics for many years before commencing his Intensive Care and emergency specialist training in NSW Health. Dr Sam Wise has extensive procedural training in the Australian hospital system, and excellent skills and experience in dermatological surgery. He is also a fellow of Royal Australian college of general practitioners, and is in close liaison with Melanoma Institute, local oncologists, Pathologists and other specialists in order to provide optimal care for his patients.

Dr. Wise has up to date knowledge in Skin cancer diagnosis and management and he maintains his continuous professional development by Regularly attending Australasian skin cancer congress, Conferences, seminars and peer group discussions and also Participating in Surgical skin Audit programs. He maintains his Accreditation status in SCCA, by completing SCCA SCPD points for each Triennium.

Melanie is a dental assistant at King Street Dental. Melanie holds a Certificate 4 in dental assisting and has extensive experience with oral surgery, implants and periodontics.

Dianna Nikoloski

Dianna is a dental assistant at King Street Dental with a Certificate 3 in dental assisting. Dianna has experience in all aspects of oral health including general dentistry and orthodontics. Dianna can also communicate in both English and Macedonian.

Solaraze is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory topical cream that treats precancerous cells. It works by destroying unstable skin cells and uses the body’s immune system to repair the damage.

ALDARA

Aldara is used to treat precancerous cells, as well as superficial basal cell carcinoma and warts. It works by stimulating the body's immune system to fight the abnormal skin growths.


Full body skin cancer checks

Efudix is a topical cancer treatment used to treat precancerous cells, as well as some forms of carcinoma. It works by stopping DNA from being produced in the cells, which stops cell replication and eventually cell death.

Both Biopsies and Excisions require the removal of an amount of a potentially cancerous growth, but for two different purposes, diagnosis and treatment.



Cryotherapy Wollongong

CYROTHERAPY

Cryotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment with a range of uses, including benign lesions and some precancerous and cancerous growths. It involves the use of very cold liquid nitrogen, to kill off any unwanted cells, which harmlessly fall off.

Curettage

Curettage and desiccation are a form of skin cancer removal used for carcinomas. It involves scraping the skin with a tool known as a curette, and then cauterising the wound.


Diathermy Wollongong

Diathermy, also known as ‘deep-heating’ uses induced electromagnetic currents to heat the area just below the skin. It is used to remove certain types of skin lesions, such as moles or skin tags. It can also be used for therapeutic purposes.

Skin Flap Surgery Wollongong

SKIN FLAP SURGERY

Skin Flap Surgery is often used to remove tumours located in high tension areas like legs, and cosmetically highly sensitive areas such as the head and neck. It is used when a simple defect closure is not possible.

Skin Graft Wollongong

A skin graft is often required to close the defect after removal of skin cancers like squamous cell cancers, Basal cell cancers and melanomas.

King Street Skin Cancer is conveniently located at 67 King Street, Warrawong, next to Warrawong Library and Plush Furniture.

Our premises has ample parking available on Carlotta Cres, at the northern end of Darcy Wentworth Park. Our practice is located at the corner of King Street & Hoskins Avenue.

We have accessibility parking available beside our building on the corner of King Street & Hoskins Ave. Enter via Hoskins Ave. During your visit you can also enjoy great coffee and refreshments from our in house cafe King Street Coffee.
